NAMSS 2024 Roundtable Report Now Available
By Molly Ford
In 2024, NAMSS hosted its 10th stakeholder roundtable, Guiding Quality Performance for Practitioners via Continuous Monitoring, to discuss the current state of continuous monitoring and its role in improving practitioner quality. NAMSS’ 2024 Roundtable included a focused group of participants in the practitioner-quality space to identify and discuss challenges, successes, and paths forward for continuous monitoring across all organizations.
Informed by the discussion of its 2023 roundtable, The Role of Practitioner Measurements in Guiding Performance, where participants cited continuous monitoring as a critical, but resource-intense quality process, NAMSS 2024 roundtable sought to focus specifically on assessing continuous monitoring, particularly from the MSP perspective. To do so, NAMSS surveyed MSPs on continuous monitoring to gather information about their role in the process, as well as their perspectives on the process.
NAMSS’ survey confirmed that many MSPs are a critical part of their organizations’ continuous monitoring processes, and that these processes can be resource-heavy with few actionable outcomes. The survey also found that MSPs often report that despite the time and resources they devote to the process, continuous monitoring could be better.
To help ensure these viewpoints were represented, NAMSS’ 2024 roundtable included a moderated panel discussion with three MSPs: Kate Conklin, MS, CHC, CPHQ, CPMSM, CPCS, FMSP; Diane Meldi, MBA, CPCS, CPMSM, FMSP; and Mallorie Merboth, MHA, CPCS, CPMSM, CPHQ, who spoke to the importance of accurately tying measurement to performance and the need for measurement to be nimble. The panel conversation provided the MSP perspective on continuous monitoring and highlighted their role in leading changes around practitioner measurement — at their organizations and beyond.
NAMSS’ 2024 Roundtable report provides an overview of participants’ assessments and ideas for continuous monitoring to ensure that the resources organizations put toward this process improve quality. NAMSS was pleased to host the following organizations at its 2024 Roundtable:
